The stewardship kick-off dinner was a wonderful time for all! Barbara and I were so blessed to sit with the bishop and his bride. I couldn't help but think to myself how nice it would have been to have Bishop vonRosenberg as our acting bishop! While visiting with him, I found myself wondering what it would have meant to us to be under his leadership. And I considered how proud I was to be a part of a church family that unconditionally loves its members, a church family that brings Christian love and fellowship to people of our community.

The bishop stressed what St. John's did for him as a person growing up. The values it instilled in him and, in essence, the very calling to the clergy grew from his "faith journey" right in this very place. We even sponsored his years in seminary and vouched for his character at his admission.

As he stood there so at peace with himself and his Maker, just happy to be home, I realized that St. John's is truly a special, BLESSED PLACE. I realized our pledge to its work was a true blessing to the church and, more importantly, a deeper blessing to us.

We must support this church’s mission.
